Classic Eyelash Extensions
The Classic Eyelash Extension is suitable for clients with normal thickness lashes, one extension per natural eyelash is applied, this may exclude weak lashes, that may be unable to hold a thick lash extension. So If you have 70 lashes then one lash will be applied to each suitable lash and you will have up to 70 lashes. This technique may not be suitable for clients with weak or few natural lashes. You may notice this as you get older, or you may never have had strong natural lashes, or even gapping.
Russian Volume Lashes
So what are Russian Volume Lashes? A hand made fan is made with several lash hairs (2 to 6), this is done on the spot by the eyelash technician, then this is fixed to one natural eyelash. This method fills gaps, these lashes are extra thin, so that the weight is only equal to one normal eyelash extension. This means that these lashes can be worn by clients who have not been blessed with strong natural eyelashes. So your 70 lashes could now increase in volume from 140 to 420!
Lash Extensions Terminology
2D – 3D = 2 to 3 Fine Lash Extensions each Natural Lash
4D – 6D = 4 to 6 Finer Lash Extensions each Natural Lash
8D – 12D = 8 to 12 Superfine Lash Extensions each Natural Lash
So which Lashes should you choose?
If you have strong natural lashes but maybe they are pale and you want more thickness and length go for the standard lashes. If you feel you want more volume or have sparse or gapping natural lashes, then go for one of the 2 to 6d options.
